Practice observing how you feel. This allows you to be more in touch with your emotions, which enables you to be more adept at managing them.

Take responsibility for your feelings and behavior by accepting that your emotions and behavior come from you and only you.

Journaling Activity: Think about a time when someone criticized you. What happened? How did this make you feel? How did you handle it? What might you do differently if something like this happens again? Did this experience change the way you offer feedback to others?

A good first step: Set an alarm for various times throughout the day. When the alarm goes off, take note of what emotion(s) you are experiencing at that moment. Also, pay attention to any physical feelings you may be experiencing based on emotions.
